Seaside Narrow Gauge Railway - perfect for family trips
The Narrow Gauge Seaside Railway is one of the most interesting tourist attractions in the Niechorze area, connecting seaside towns on the route from Gryfice to Pogorzelica. Its history dates back to 1896, when the first railway connection from Gryfice to Niechorze was launched.
Over the years, the importance of the railway began to decline, and after World War II the infrastructure gradually deteriorated and was partially dismantled. It was not until 2002 that the Rewal municipality took over the remnants of the line and began its revitalization, restoring the railway to its former glory. Today, the route is about 40 kilometers long and runs through picturesque towns such as Trzęsacz, Rewal, Śliwin, and Niechorze, offering a unique journey among seaside landscapes.
Currently, a ride on the historic narrow-gauge train, often called the “retro chugger,” is not only a means of transport but primarily an attraction in itself. In the summer season, trains run regularly, allowing tourists to conveniently explore the coast and its most important points. A journey on the narrow gauge railway is a unique opportunity to feel the atmosphere of bygone times while admiring the charms of the Baltic Sea from a completely different perspective.
